RANCHO PENASQUITOS
Rancho Penasquitos is located west of the I-15, north of Mira Mesa and south of 4S Ranch. The southern border is adjacent to the Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve. There are approximately 14,000 homes and a population of approximately 55,000 residents. The community was first developed in the 1970s and has developed over the last 30-years, new homes are still being built in the western area of Rancho Penasquitos. The community is made up of homes, condominiums and apartments. Children of Rancho Penasquitos residents attend the highly acclaimed Poway Unified School District schools.
Rancho Penasquitos is a small, active community that hosts the Fiesta de los Penasquitos (a community oriented street fair), a Fourth of July fireworks show at Westview High School and Christmas Card Lane (a neighborhood wide display of lights and Christmas themes).
