ESCONDIDO
Escondido is located in the valley of the coastal mountains in San Diego which provides gentle rolling hills, and avocado and citrus groves. Escondido lies about 18 miles inland, 100 miles south of Los Angeles, and 30 miles northeast of downtown San Diego. Escondido is surrounded by Valley Center, Rancho Bernardo, and San Marcos and conveniently located near the I-15 and SR-78. Escondido offers its residents a variety of activities, including the San Diego Zoo Safari Park (formerly the San Diego Zoo Wild Animal Park), wineries, golf courses and the Westfield Mall. Being rural in nature, but yet City close, Escondido offers its residents numerous parks, lakes, trails and open space.
